Trying to settle a discussion between desk bound On-Line WW2 Combat pilots.##!! –lol.
Does anyone know if any Unit in WW2 used a standard Operating defensive procedure of dropping their bombs at low level to catch Enemy fighters coming in too close behind. The idea being that the fighters flew into the explosion and the Bomber/ Fighter, etc, was able to escape.
This would be Allies and Axis units.
IE:- Tempests or Mustangs on low level Rhubarbs, etc.
Interesting or what !!!!!
