Perhaps an interesting topic…?
Can anyone add to a list of manoeuvres that are named after the pilot that first perfected them.
Only a few come immediately to mind:-
1) ‘THE IMMELMANN TURN‘ – Max Immelmann’s famous WW1 180 degree about-face.
2) ‘THE ZURABATIC CARTWHEEL’ – Jan Zurakowski’s one engined cavorting in the Gloster Meteor.
3) ‘THE FARLEY CLIMB‘ – John Farley’s gravity defying nose-up take off in the Harrier.
4) ‘THE DERRY TURN‘ – John Derry’s rolling one way, then turning the other.
