Talk on the history of Coventry Airport – 9 October.

I hope that this may be of interest to some of you.

I don’t believe there is an admission fee and there is the possibility of a walk-around Coventry Aeroplane Club’s hangar (which usually contains a Waco).
Get there early, I reckon it might be well-attended ๐Ÿ™‚

Wings Over Warwickshire

A history of flying at Baginton
with Barry Clay

Friday 9th October at 8 pm Coventry Aeroplane Club, Rowley Road, Baginton.

Coventry Airport has a long and illustrious history which many may not be aware of. The evening will be devoted to the role that the airfield has played in the development of aviation from the 1930s to the present day. Barryโ€™s talk will cover the many activities that have taken place at the airport over the years โ€“ the design and manufacture of bombers and airliners at Armstrong Whitworth, maintenance companies and airlines, the flying clubs and groups that have been based there.

Barry Clay worked at the airport for many years and is a keen aviation historian. He is also a noted modeller and will bring along some of his models of aircraft that have been associated with the airfield over the years.
