The aircraft hard standing from in front of Hanger 2 down to the ARCo compound is like a building site with the makings of a rather large tent for Helitech. The north side of Hanger 2 has been cleared of movable aircraft and in their place is a load of tables and posh crockery for a Normandy Veterans Association ‘bit of a do’ tomorrow (Sunday). The displaced aircraft are either outside or squeezed into Hanger 3.
The main reason for my visit was to get some photos of the Vimy replica sitting in the sunshine. The Buchon departed in the afternoon for East Kirkby and it returned with Mr Spink in his Mk XVI Spitfire which then performed a short display.
