Nightfighter Stukas?

I’ve just been reading “Nightfighter” by Ken Delve, and in one of the appendixes it lists Ju87’s as being on strength with I/NJG100 in 1943. I’ve done a bit more digging and it appears they were all Ju87D-5’s, but I’ve not found anything which explains their role with the unit.

I know Ju87’s were used in large numbers for night ground attack, especially on the eastern front, but wouldn’t they be attached to a specific night attack unit rather than being attached to a nightfighter one?

Any info much appreciated.
