After being sat dormant for over 35 years in various places ,today power was applied to the undercarriage light circuit after tracing and rewiring the broken wires and finally light was seen shining from the undercarriage leg on the port side.
Also as a added bonus we powered up the instrument panel lights and all of the stbd side inst panels finally lit up .
Without the exception of the odd one or two pillar lamps they all functioned correctly ,even the warning panel lit up and the radio panel.
Quite funny really as the warning panel showed up a fuel 1 warning considering there is no engines or fuel .
Does anyone out there have any close up pictures of a mk1a inst panel to aid us with the restoration project as well as any f1a manuals.
We are also trying to source some bulbs if anyone has any spare for our nav lights.
We are after the following.
1x taxy lamp 28 v 60 w 5L/995211 same as jet provost
2x tail nav lights 28v 10 w 5L/9952276
2x wing tip lights 28v 24w 5L/9952431
also some pillar lamp bulbs 5L/9959118
Any help in sourcing these would be a great help
Will post some pictures up shortly

Only 4 complete F1a airframes still survive
Just to add to our bretheren out there that XM192 is one of only FOUR F1a complete airframes remaining so, this is quite a rare beast.
XM172, XM173, XM192 are in the UK and XM178 is at the French aircraft museum in Sauvigny-Les-Beaune.

Splendid news indeed.
Splendid news indeed that XM192 has a ‘pulse’ of sorts especially after all these years….quite remarkable….VERY WELL DONE you.
I wish you all well with the venture and if Lakes Lightnings can be of any help, please send me a PM.
Im looking to do similar with F1a’s XM172 & XM173 but not for the next few years so, XM192 leads the way and hopefully, will show us how its done!!
Happy Christmas all …fly safe
