My Dad just bought a B-29 pilot seat off ebay and we would like to try and find out some history for the seat.
It came from Essex and the seller said his friend took it out of a B-29 at mildenhall maybe.
I was thinking it may have come over to the UK in 1980 with spare parts for Hawg Wild, or maybe it was taken out of Hawg Wild, as i think that was fitted with B-50 pilots seat.
The seat is in very good condition with original paint and decals. I think it may have been a copilots seat, as the left arm rest seems a little more worn on the canvas and the clip that hold the arm rest in the up position won’t hold it up, but the left one will.
Anyone have any ideas on its history?
Thanks,
Keith.
