Reach for the Sky Movie Poster FREE with FLYPAST (well, just an idea…)

As most of us know Aeroplane Monthly are renowned for giving away FREE DVDs. Flypast recently posted a vacancy for an Assistant Editor, with applicants being requested to suggest “three ways you would make Flypast even better…”. I’m not qualified to be an Assistant Editor, but I thought I’d share an idea:

Most of us who frequent this forum are also fans of the classics – British war movies, including The Dam Busters, Appointment in London, Reach for the Sky, Angels One Five, The Way to the Stars, etc. Like most, I bought copies of The Daily Mail just to secure my FREE DVD copies of these and other titles, but what I want and what I’ve been after for years are the original movie posters. Problem is, they are extremely rare with prices to match (an original Reach for the Sky poster will set you back £1K).

So why not as a promotional tool doesn’t Flypast offer FREE reproduction copies of classic war movie posters with its publication. I do know that if the price is right it is possible to secure reproduction rights to a number of posters, while printing the 30in x 40in poster (folded) itself is definitely cheaper than pressing DVDs. And for those who want an unfolded copy of The Dam Busters printed on higher quality paper and suitable for framing, Flypast could offer a premium service – mail order copies – rolled not folded and posted in a tube.

Just a Suggestion and one I hope others might find attractive?
