Hi all
Bit of a long shot but here goes
My wifes Grandfather was a ARP runner in Spalding Lincolnshire during WW2. He has told me about several Wartime aircraft crashes in and around Spalding and it is one of these that I want to pick your collective brains on. The crash was in the afternoon and involved 2 “Fortresses” that collided and crashed in Burr lane just outside Spalding. At least one of the crew baled out but was killed on landing as his head struck a metal tractor seat in the field where he landed. There were some casualties as he remembers the burnt bodies being removed. obviously some of the above may be wrong as this was over 60 years ago but it would be nice to give him some information on this.
Any help would be appreciated
Andy
