On the subject of Merlin tools… I picked this up, which is PERFECT for the intake plugs on a Merlin 🙂
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=98484

Long enough & thin enough so you can reach across without stuff getting in the way when removing plugs.. & you can stick a crowsfoot on the end for removing the leads from the plugs.
Almost looking forward to having a P51 show up with a misfire..:D
It comes in 1/4, 3/8 & 1/2in versions. I have the 1/4 & 3/8 🙂 The elbow swivels 180deg total & the ratchet head swivels a bit more than that.

We have one at the hangar, I’ll take pics & list whats in it tomorrow if I have time. I’m elbow deep in a DC2 & a P51 tho so time may be a bit short.

Isn’t the famous one the 2BA?
Moggy
Yes, only Rolls-Royce could invent their own nut.
It was done to fit with the BSF tools, which is quite logical, except for the fact that the numerous 1, 3, 4 and 5BA hardware still requires a BA kit.
