I was wondering if anybody knew what the RAF’s approach was to fitting Red Beard to the early Canberra marks. As i understand it at the moment the first nuclear capable version was the B.6/B(I).8, However the RAF had a huge stock of B.2’s and were pursuing Red Beard by the mid 50s. Basically my question is, were any of the B.2s ever modified to use Red Beard or were there any plans to do so. By extension I would also be interested to know how many B.6s the RAF initially wanted/planned for prior to economic reality kicking in?
Cheers everyone!
