Can someone please tell me when this aircraft entered into service, when it was withdrawn from service and how and when it met its end?

Sorry it doesn’t help answer your question AA but there is a good photo of J7763 on Ebay.fr at present –

Welcome, G4MUF. Every thread here is like King Arthur – perchance it is not dead, but sleepeth! Thus if, from your father’s log books or other sources, you can shed more light upon Siskin J7763 I, for one, will be most grateful. All these years on, still I’ve not identified the location or the date of the photograph first posted.

Siskin J7763
Hi I do not know if this thread is still live but my father flew in Sikin J7763 at Cranwell.
Regards,
Richard
I’ve now been given permission to use a photo of this Siskin, which was taken by the owner’s father in south-east England sometime in the 1930s. It is one of a number of such photographs that appear to have been taken at the same location. The owner believed that it was taken at Wilmington but the timescale makes this unlikely (but not impossible). My guess was that it was taken at Lympne but I’ve been unable to find any other photos taken at Lympne in the early 1930s which might offer evidence to support my guess. Regrettably none of the photos show any buildings or anything in the background which might help identify the location – only the damned great hedge (or row of low, dense trees) which appears in this photo. So can any say where it was taken or at least offer an intelligent guess!

Can anyone help?
Sadly it doesn’t look as if they can! Nonetheless thanks to all who have contributed to this thread.

It appears that J7763 was active until, at least, 1933. But can anyone tell me when and for what reason it was struck off charge?
Can anyone help?

Someone must know what happened to this Siskin and when!

J6673 was a Bristol F.2B Mk.II
Guess you mean J6583, first steel Siskin, ordered 31.5.20
Sorry, Martin, but I must have been suffering from late night post syndrome. Both references in my post should have been to J7763. I’ll make the necessary correction.

Thanks, John, for I knew that someone with more AB monographs than me would be able to help! It’s as a two seater that I’m particularly interested in J6673.
