‘Fixed up’ so it could go up and down or ‘Fixed up’ so it was permanently down!

The “Yak box” came in very handy……big thumbs up to the engineers who got her fixed up in very short order 😀
Wasn’t the tail wheel actually fixed down on Sunday?

Problem repeats itself?
They had electrical problems with the u/c before the La Ferte Alais display weekend too – thats why they landed elsewhere and then arrived at the show there with the gear locked down.
A repeat of the same glitch perhaps?

FW190
Hmmm.. that could explain why she departed Dx today with undercart down, and was still apparently so when seen over Southend later on.

Ah I wondered why she was minus a rudder when I went on my early Sunday morning walkabout. A big well done to the guys for fixing it up so quickly.
Talking of technical glitches, forgive me if i’m repeating anything posted elsewhere, but here’s a picture of the 190 from Sunday evening with partially extended tailwheel. Also the port leg wasn’t quite fully extended. Electrics perhaps?
Also I was very impressed by the crew’s attempt at replicating Cracknell and Fogle erecting a tent in Antarctic gales with their canopy cover 😀

Most of my model aeroplanes went through that phase, but weren’t fixed as quickly or professionally.

Thankfully it was flying again on Sunday – I suppose it is a tail dragger after all….. 🙂
