I believe the original plan was for the French contingent to arrive at Duxford at 13.00, but as is the way with best laid plans part of the contingent arrived at 17.20. Hopefully the rest will arrive tomorrow. On landing the FW 190 pilot was given a celebratory bottle of ‘Spitfire’ Beer!

Cars have tailpipes too!-anyway, can any of the local guys tell us what day is likely to be best (weather-wise?)
By: Steve Bond - 10th July 2009 at 13:42
Only jets have tailpipes.

Am i thinking the error relates to “Grumpy” being in the States the last number of years?
How is the Weather looking guys for the weekend?

Nice pictures, functional but an ugly beast me thinks would look better with a MK IX up its tail pipe

I found that as well…still going though!
Oh and has anybody else noticed the mistake on the news page of the main Flypast site? It concerns one of the shows preformers.

Hello forum members,
Forgive me for being a little confused (its my age) but is this particular Fw 190 participating in the airshow or am I just going mad?
I am still missing the sound of Black 6, which was indeed an airshow puller!Kind regards to all.

It is taking part in Flying Legends, subject to the usual disclaimers like engineering problems etc, and I believe parked up on display line next to the ARCo FW190 and ‘Buchon’.:D

That’s a plane I’d love to see up close!
Obviously the ‘190’s electrical issues were sorted out in time for the show.

I’m guessing this is a new-build Fw-190
Yes.
if so is this the first time one has visited the UK?
Flying, yes.
I’m not aware of any ever flying a “warbird”, so when was the last time one was in the UK skies?
1946-47?..probably in Eric Brown’s logbook…
An original has not (in the post 1968 ‘warbird era’) so yes I guess you would be about right in your estimate.
