Isn’t there a Viscount and at least 2 Tridents in the museum at Datangshan?
There are. There’s also a number of Tridents elsewhere in China, including one in downtown Beijing.

How do Darts fare after prolonged storage?
I doubt if the engines were properly inhibited, but it might still run.
Darts are tough as old boots: centrifugal compressor and pretty basic. They’d run on creosote I’d imagine.

Interesting to see this thread again, I had forgotten about it. In the meantime we’ve gone from 15 active VC10s and 4 preserved to 9 preserved examples (one is only a fuselage), with several incomplete fuselage sections and nose sections as well.

There are a few DH Devons in NZ that should actually met the criteria (built as doves, flown on ZK reg before being handed over to the RNZAF if I recall correctly) but I will that to someone who knows which ones.

Thanks to google for bringing up this thread. Does anyone know if there are any Vickers Viscounts that could still be ground run at all anywhere in the world?
The Pima Air Museum has one (ex-Tucson based charter firm that rented them to touring music groups), aside from being sun baked, I would imagine it’s in good condition.
It’s an early (40th built…A contender for the oldest survivor?) ex-TCA craft…and apparently flew the first commercial turbine flight in North America.

Since the first list was compiled the Speke Aerodrome Historical Group have rescued and reassembled Avro/HS 748, G-BEJD at Liverpool.
It’s a bit more significant than “any old” 748 as it is believed to be the only Series 1 of the type remaining, it was in the first production batch and one of the first aircraft delivered to the launch customer, Aerolineas Argentinas back in 1962. So it’s likely to be the oldest extand 748 in the world.
Anon.

Roger,
The surviving ex-QANTAS HS125 is VH-ECE (MSN 25062) and the last known owner was a Grahame Onus. Data source for this information was http://www.adastron.com/707/qantas/hs125.htm
This site has photos and some references to other HS/DH 125 aircraft that were in Australia and is well worth a look.

A84-232 Thanks have added those in – does 9M-ASB also belong to Australian Aviation Museum?
Archer those two added. Like Jetsteams, DH Dominies will hold off on the RAF VC.10s (unless “in preservation”)
garry no am not including noses – really needs to be a complete fuselage (made an exception with the Ashton at Newark due to it’s rarity.
Thanks again.

Garry – I reckon thos Navy Jestreams would qualify as they were built as civil machines. ‘PWJ c/n corrected and fueslage of ‘OVS added
T.O. “post-war” to keep it manageable? but, saying that, there are actually so few pre-war types left so perhaps add them in later??
A84-232 thanks.
Mark thanks for those three (added) is that Moorabin??, any previous idents?
wcfcfan Wrecks & Relics lists XX105 complete and XX919 is only a nose – is that right?
WJ244 I should have got that one as it has been in my locality for a good while (with Air Atlantique), think it’s G-AORG but I’m not sure of current status or location.
DavidS/WJ244 yep the ex RAFMuseum Consul VR-SCD at Singapore added. Is that it’s true identity and was it G-AITB or ‘TF??
richellis Trident ‘WZK added
cometguy Dove ‘REA added and RAFMuseum Comet regn corrected
LindysLad Jetsream and S.330 added
GFR yes. do you have any identities for it, current owner???
dailee yes Beagle 206 G-ARRM added – is it with Shoreham Aircraft Museum?(presume it’s stil owned by Brooklands Museum) Have also added G-ASWJ -= shame on me for omitting that one when I was involved (a little bit) in getting it for MAM) 😮
