Have the American plug mod done and fit REL 37Bs,I did and haven’t had a problem since doing it-and the plugs are cheap!
Hi Mudmover
Is it much of a mod to fit these plugs to a Gipsy?

To answer a couple of the questions:
Yes it is for a Moth, and indeed we are members of the DH Moth Club – unfortunately those listed on there as being able to provide plugs are (in this event) not of any help!
The mod coversion is definately something we’re considering – luckily we’re pretty full with passengers at the moment so not going to do anything til at least this winter.
Good news is – we’ve found a chap with the one servicable plug we need – roll on the efficiency of the UK Postal Service!

Who says its for a Tiger Moth?? There are more A/C out there that use a Gipsy Major, and any way the Moth Service Register doesnt always have all the answers!

Can you really be a serious operator of a Tiger Moth and not know of the Moth Club Service Register? Join the Moth Club and find out all about it!

Light Aero Spares or Skytrade sell spark plugs for Gipsy’s.
http://www.lasaero.com/site/products/article?id=N025B78PX
Skytrade don’t have a website, their telephone number is 01884860202.
Probably about the same price as LAS though, not cheap :eek:

Light Aero Spare’s have both 12 and 14mm screened plugs, i did have some 12mm KLG plugs untill recently but sold the lot. Unless you really want a screened ignition then a modern equivilent NGK plug will serve you better and cheeper.
