Any ideas as to what these are would be appreciated;
These were found on the surface of a field where VZ747 came to grief. The plane itself force landed and then disintegrated after hitting some trees.
The one on the left is made of bakelite with a spring loaded ‘fastener’, the one on the right appears to be some sort of light fitting.. but from whereabouts.? There are no numbers stamped on.

Your light fitting is a unique-to-the-FAA item which would have been found on the tail of most of their aeroplanes in the late 1940s.
I recall seeing quite a few last time I wandered around Yeovilton.
I have a shed full of them if you need another! 🙂

Nice one Elliott.. thats the best suggestion so far. Will see if i have any close ups of TF.2 and S.4 tails. Now what about the other part.. the curved bakelite part has me stumped..:confused:

Hell, you’ve nearly enough there for a flyer!

…and after giving the ‘fastener’ type piece an inspection sure enough there is the stamp WA4 44 080 A. The WA4 indicating Wyvern.

Thanks for the replies.
Elliott your absolutely right about numbers on the light fitting. Gave it a clean and sure enough there was RFE or RFF or REF5C/1257.

That’s an air ministry light fitting – if you clean it up there should be a ref number on it. I had one a few years ago.

ID
I can’t help with the left hand item but the right hand one looks like a twin tail light fitting from the rear fuselage or rudder…?

I would guess wing nav/ident light for the object on the right.
