I thought some of you would like to see the new build Whirlwind we have been working on… 😉
It’s now been imported into the sim and is at the moment being tested by a select few, whose job is make a de-snagging list. At the moment the Flight Model is a generic one just to test that all the flaps, rudders, undercarridge etc move in the correct way. Once that is sorted we will be testing her with her own flight model based on the data from the A&AEE…
This is still early days yet and this model is only using a holding skin, the final Hi-Res ones are at this moment being made…
Here’s a shot of the model…

Here’s the link to see more sreenshots…

At risk of taking this slightly off topic (should probably be the flight sim forum?) If you have a recent (intel CPU) Mac running OSX you can install Windows on a second partition using ‘bootcamp’ which will allow you to run the IL2 series of sims in their native environment. I suspect this would be a better solution than running games using Parallels or similar.
HTH!

P.S. Great work on the 3d model!

Whirlwind SIM
My drooling just shorted out the keyboard!
Any chance that the SIM will run on a Mac? If not what about through Parallels?

Great stuff Stuart! I’m a tad confused as to where and when this will be available to the public from. Will it be a part of an update package? A free download?
