After being current in New Zealand since 1935, the DH60M Moth ZK-AEJ c/n 1542 ex G-AAXG/F-AJZB/G-AAXG has been canceled as exported.
This Moth was built in 1930 as a ‘speed model’ for DH Director Arthur S Butler and acheived 2nd place 1930 King’s Cup at 129.7mph. It then went briefly to France with DH agent Edouard Bret before returning to the UK and being sold to Sub.Lt. Holm R A Kidston, RN.
Kidston then shipped the Moth to New Zealand where it has been on-and-off active ever since.
Does anyone know where this Moth is now headed?

BTW, where on earth is ‘Annemasse’?
There might be a good opportunity to see her at an event that is being planned for Goodwood later this year – however the date won’t get published until the core of it is planned but it promises to be something really special.
There is an ever expanding old aircraft scene at Goodwood at the moment – a few people working very hard to create a new collection readily available to the public – well worth a bit of support I’d say!

DH60M new owner
Hi all,
ZK-AEJ has been purchased by Simon Kidston.

In 1933 this Moth was owned by Simon’s father, the then Lieutenant Home R A Kidston, and carried the registration G-AAXG.
The Moth is due to arrive in the U.K. in late July.
Simon resides in Geneva and London so I am not sure where he will base the Moth. I will ask him.
Simon’s uncle was the famous Glen Kidston.
