Harold Probyn learned to fly in the First World War, had a long career with the RAF becoming the Commandant of Cranwell during the Second World War. After the war he emigrated to Kenya and became a coffee farmer. He continued to fly until he was over 80. He converted a Grunau Baby glider to a powered glider, by installing a VW engine. He built a Jodel D9 5Y-ALI. He passed away after what appears to be a more than full life at 104.
Question for the Forumites. Did he write an autobiography (guess he may not have had time!!)? Alternatively has anyone written his biography?

The Daily Telegraph published a book of Airman’s Obituaries, including that of Daddy Probyn.
