There are a few well known pictures of Stirling’s with Nose Art and quite a few long distance shots with blurry images of Jane and Other items
The well known pictures are:
MacRoberts Reply ( N6086 and W7531)
555 State Express (LK555)
Cheers for Beer at the Getsummin (?)
Gremlin Teaser (LJ542)
Yorkshire Rose (LJ566)
Bushwacker (LJ995)
Goofy (EF446)
Beer is Best (LJ977)
Bear on Bottle ( cant find the reference this early)
Dinosaur – unknown
and a few more…
So if the BBMF had a Stirling – what art would you paint on the Nose ?

+ 2 – wasn’t a BBMF Hurricane marked up in previous years as a MacRobert aircraft ? So there could even be a precident !
Apologies for thread drift – but as there is a “Friday 13th” already albeit static, how would they mark up a Halifax ?
Heck of a 3 aircraft flypast that would be…………:D

Yup, gets my vote too.
Think there was a Lossie based Tonka painted up with this nose art in recent years.

Agree with MacRobert’s Reply.
My favorite aircraft name story of the war.
I’ve been touched by the story since I first read about it as a child.

Morning,
My vote would go for the “MacRobert’s Reply”. Althought it carried quite a ‘restrained’ nose art, this was probably the most famous Stirling of the War. The story of the donation for its purchase is very moving, as is what happened to its successor. This is very well documented at http://www.macrobertsreply.com/.
Thanks for helping to keep the memory of these famous aircraft alive.
