I have been in 2005 and 2007. Both times I enjoyed it and coupled with a holiday in Florida it’s a good excuse not to go to the theme parks! It’s very well organised and whilst it might not be on the scale of Oshkosh you do get some interesting variety. I usually go in one of the arrival days so I can wander around before the crowds.

I’ll be going by road (if I go), decided its time for a holiday before summer gets here…

Go to Oshkosh instead is leaves Sun ‘n’ Fun in the shade. SnF is either too hot or too muddy and everybody leaves on Friday, so when the public turn up at the weekend, they’ve missed the best bit.

Because of the fuel prices last year, the warbird pilots were conservative as to how many fly ins they would take their aircraft too. Suffice to say that the attendance at SnF was atrocious and at Oshkosh it was phenomenal.

Were you considering flying in? There is a good meaty Notam for that. I can give you some tips on staying alive on the way in, if you like. I’ve flown in a three times.
