Over the past few years i have been collecting photos of Fairey Battles. My uncle who was killed during the war started me off with his album. Can any body help identify where these to Battles and Potez 25 where abandoned in France please. One is 88sqdn the other is 150sqdn.

Thanks John. Have you noticed that the 150sqdn Battle on the right has had work done on the wing under surface as paint has been removed. Here’s two more taken at the same time.

It’s possible that they were taken at Nantes as this was the last base in France that these two Sqns were together when the remaining a/c and crews left for England. These were probably the “lame ducks”. I have seen a number of photos of Potez 25’s on their noses and I wonder if it seems to have been standard practice to disable a machine by taxying and applying the brakes.
