This original negative in this morning’s post looking for a home.
Likely, Upavon June 1962 but not 100%, though certainly of that time period.

Lucky you Lee! Always love the thought of Sir Richard Fairey arriving at RAeS and SBAC garden partys’ in the Fulmar. Lovely looking Fairey type IMO.

I have a shot of the Fulmar with RR299 at Farnborough in colour which I will try to find, in the meantime I hope this will do!

……and arrived on my doorstep this morning, having found said good home 😀 Lovely shots, aren’t they! Yes, I would say Upavon. Lovely to see her a) with wings spread, and b) flying! How I’d love to be able to drag her out onto the dispersal one day in brilliant sunshine and see her in all her glory.
One day!

Both aircraft in the photo were flying at the Farnborough show in 1962. I took slides of them and will see if I can locate them,

I’ve seen a colour shot of it in flight in camouflage – on the cover of the 4+ book on the type, IIRC.
There’s colour of it in civvies in the Fairey house colours in the Chas E Brown books too.
Wonder when it was repainted into FAA colours?
One of the few surviving aircraft that’s unique three times over – it’s the sole survivor, it’s the Mk.I prototype and the Mk.II prototype!
