Hi there,
Spoke to Harry Fraser Mitchell on the phone yesterday evening and he told me that somewhere in the UK a project has been going on for years to reconstruct a 0/00 Bloody Paralyser to airworthy standards and all drawings still exist. Does anybody know more about it?
Harry also mentiond that a Halifax wreck has indeed been found off the Norwegian coast.
Cheers
Cees

F.S. Publication No. 20., Schedule of Spare Parts FOR HANDLEY-PAGE BOMBING MACHINE O.
For those interested in this subject, the Schedule of Spare Parts of the O.400 is available on line.
It includes all the drawing numbers and illustrations as to what the parts look like.
It includes the parts for the various engines fitted to this aircraft.

There where two projects to build an HP 42. One was a long held dream of Mike Russell and the other one that had a tent at a Woburn Moth Rally.

Has the Imperial Airways/HP 42 project died with the passing of John Farley??
Roger Smith.
It was never a goer.
Lots of bluster and little else
Bristol Jupiters being made in Eastern Europe? Mythical Middle Eastern backers?
Yeah, and Concorde is going to fly.
Not a chance

There was a 0/400 replica registered in the 1980’s in the G-BJxx series IIRC?It was later cancelled by the CAA as I think only a few small parts had been made but would love to be proved wrong. Can we have a passenger version replica please:D.

According to Harry work has been ongoing for six years now and components have been made. Who I am to doubt him;) . He also mentioned that these planse originated just before HP folded in 1969/1970, so that could be the truth David, but he was positive that now progress was being made. The standard was/is to be to flight but not to really fly it but to ensure the quality of the work carried out.

If it is true it would be utterly brilliant, one of my favourite bombers, I’ve not heard anything. My guess is that it must be still just idea.. (Imagine the Vimy and a HP 0/400 together).
As to the Halifax…. I hope that it is in good nick and a Canadian one as they will recover it and look after it with the respect it deserves. If it is a British crewed one then it will be left to rot sadly.
Paul.

Be fantastic if true, one of my favourite aircraft and an interesting service career too
