Wings Museum Redhill Closes

I have been told the museum at Redhill Aerodrome has suddenly closed, vehicles have been removing the contents all weekend and the hangar is now empty !

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR 2009

The Wings Museum is currently relocating after the Aerodrome indicated that the hanger would be required in the near future for commercial flying operations. The museum will utilise this opportunity to complete phase 2 and will reopen as soon as possible bigger and better than before! Further announcements will made on this website.

We apologise for any disappointment and would like thank the public for their extremely positive feedback on the museum during the 2008 open season. To view what our visitors say please click here.

The above is taken from the web site, have you heard something different ?

Ben

Things look good for the future, once the move is completed.
The `Gohsts of tthe Tundra` exhibit looks worth a visit. Boston, King Cobra, Hurricane and kate. I am sure I have seen pics of these aircraft on hear before, in a barn. Any one know what I am talking about. Sure there was a B25, 109 lots of King Cobras.

I think the only place you will see any of it for now is in a barn, there is no move, other than into storage.

I didn’t even know there was a museum at Redhill, despite having attended the aerojumbles!

The above link comments on the situation.

I had heard of “problems” there and rumours it was all going into storage to West Sussex. That said, the owners of the museum have very recently made purchases on e-bay for the museum collection!!
