I was wondering if anybody might be to tell me what the item shown below is.
It is about 8 1/2″ long, and seems to be made of copper. It also has a number of stamps including a large T, K38 in a circle, A9, 43, EW410 and a few more aI cannot make out.
I am unsure if it was originally flat, or if it may have been a clasp to hold something in place. I was told that it might be from a Hampden by the man who gave it to me.
Any help would be great,
Johnnie

Thanks for that. Does anybody have a photo of an example? Would it operate like a modern fire extinguisher, only it is quite thin and would bend very easily.

Looks a bit like a handle from a fire extinguisher.
