WW1/WW2 RFC/RAF Message Streamers

Been after one of these for a loooong time, I was pointed the way of a website selling them, they’ve got more in stock for anyone interested in acquiring them. The small white pouch at the end has a stud, and a message to troops on the ground was put in there, as well as a weight, and dropped out of aircraft. I’ve got some reproduction messages to fill out, and who knows, might even get the chance to use them for real one day! It’s about four feet long in total

The photo appended shows how Jack stretched out the trailing aerial to w/t base. The other photo is Jack soldering the radiator. the snap was taken by an arab auxilliary. He remarked how quickly the local populace turned out in an ’empty’ desert. The Moore Brabazon was the CO. The letter is Vivian Brown, all beautifully written in a flying DH 9a.

This is an actual message dropped from a DH 9a in Iraq to a downed 9a I also have the photos of the 9a being repaired. I knew Jack Weston in the late 60’s and I have his collection of photos from that time.
