I was over at Newark yesterday and as has been widely reported their volunteers are restoring a Meteor NF14 night-fighter in the on-site workshop.
They have been recording all the markings as the rub the airframe down and they have two sets of stencils on the rear section of the ventral fuselage tank. I have been advised these are in different layers of paint and that both seem to refer to tank contents filling and washing out but they are both different and only partially complete.
Does anyone have any ideas where they could source the correct text[s]?
I have details of what letters they have already recorded, but when I try to post them here the gaps close up and it loses context and letter spacing.
They are also looking for drawings, photos and parts for the restoration of both front and rear cockpits.
Now that the information request has been posted on the museum website http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/newsItem.php?id=78 I have posted it here for them.

Thanks for that Bruce – things seem to be working towards a successful outcome; now just the hard bit for the volunteers doing the work.
Hopefully by the time of the Aeroboot on the 28th they might have a clearer idea of any specific requirements – I’ll make sure we talk then!
Thanks to those who’ve made contact. 🙂

I do also have a training manual for the NF14 – I will copy it for you.
Offer still stands re instrumentation!

John,
Thanks for making me aware of the AP – you have a PM.
Bruce,
On Tuesday when I visited Newark I was advised that actual instrumentation was not their immediate requirement, as they may have some in the ‘registered’ store of instruments. Frankly the cockpits are in a bit of a mess and photos / drawings are the current requirement.
Fortunately thanks to the members here we might be making some good progress on that front for the volunteers over at Newark.
However who knows, the situation might have changed again by the time that the Aeroboot arrives on the 28th!

I can supply instrumentation – in fact, I can bring it with me in a couple of weeks if you tell me what you need!
