Any V force aircrew 1965 Waddington emergency landing

Can any V Force crew remember returning to base during 1956 at 30,000ft when they lost all flight instruments and were vertually out of fuel and with No communications available except CW,
I was an Air signaller on rest tour, I/C Signals at Bomber Command HQ and one of the operators received the above message at about 1am and asked What do I do? I sent CW orders straight back to him to start decending and make turns to starboard to allow for radar recognition, phoned Waddington Flight control, advised problem and between identified him and then continued in CW passing him direction and landing instructions, All went well, he landed safely, Pilot phoned his thanks saying they managed it with a drip in the tanks. Waddington Wing Co Flying phoned thanking me for using my initiative.
Next morning I was threatened with Court Martial for acting without getting the correct commissioned person with correct authority to take action. My reply was not official language and my docs received .This man is unameniable to discipline.
Would be nice to know if the chaps I helped were still around, they were a fair bit younger than me.
Best wishes
Maurice
