Alanl asked me to post some pics that I have of G-APSA taken at Changi in 1962 and 63.

Taxying in past the Changi Road. Picture taken early January 1963 and she’s still in Cunard markings.

This was on an earlier run-December 1962.
A very, very beautiful aircraft. So thrilling to know that she’s still exciting us 45 years after these were taken!

David, I hope you don’t mind if I post a couple of mine from, a staggering, 47 years later !!!! Keith.

You could certainly hear the engine noise from here !!!!!

I just clicked on the link for G-APSA and found that the aircraft is to be used for charter flights holding up towards 34 people from 2013. Has the CAA actually allowed this, or are we talking wishful thinking? I’d like to see this happen, but am slightly dubious that the authorities are as enthusiastic…

Interestingly, we hear that the wife of one of the present captains of G-APSA was born at Changhi (in the military hospital).
At www.thedc6.com you can see for yourself how accurate the current “British Eagle” livery is. The original was a modified Cunard Eagle scheme with the airline title being the only significant change.
