Just finishing a Wellington panel of a Mk X flown in 1944 with 192 Squadron.
Very surprised to see a Wellington this late on with over 80 mission tallied.
As I understand 192 squadron were doing radio interception. Also as the boffins mistakenly thought V2 was radio guided – were also trying to get radio guidance data.
Anyone know more on 192 and their Wellingtons ?
The aircraft in particular has a Bambi as the crew had sent a letter to Walt Disney asking for a Nose Art image (as a lot of US crew did). The mission tally symbols are all small Bambi.

Hi Brian – get yourself The Aircraft of 100 Group by Martin Streetly ISBN 0 7090 1043 5. An excellent reference. Published in 1984.
