Zero, P40 & the Bundaburg Bunker "stolen"??

.

For those who have followed this saga for the last year or two, a recent “dig” has shed new light on the existance of the Bundaburg Bunker, it was covered previously in detail in the KP forum thread below, with confident predictions of its existance, “reliable” eye witness testimony and claims of a Government and Council conspiracy.

I’m sure “Bunker Bernie” will say its just part of the conspirancy and that the buried bunker, along with its zero and P40 have been stolen or relocated to another location, but despite the long patience of the Bundaburg Council, and significant expenditure by the Department of Defence and Council on scanning and excavation the Bunker Experts cant find any trace of the supposed “well known” entry points, or the bunker that had shown up so clearly on their own scans.

Of course this does raise the question of where those dis-assembled aircraft, (the zero and P40), the munitions, and the bunker itself, (reported and sketched by a “reliable” eye witness), have all got to?

It seems clear that the Council and the Department of Defence have used all of these delays to burrow underground and remove the entire bunker and its contents of secret munitions and stored aircraft to another secret and secluded location.

I have it on good authority that there is a Zero and P40 kittyhawk stored in a large government building in Canberra at the Australian War Memorial, and perhaps they have the Bunker as well?

I think its safe to say the legend of the Bunderberg Bunker is finally debunked!

Smerks!

Excavation debunks Bundaberg bunkers mystery: council

Map: Bundaberg 4670
The long-running mystery of whether there are World War II bunkers under the Bundaberg Airport appears to be finally over.

Rumours have long circulated around Bundaberg, in south-east Queensland, that underground war bunkers exist at the city’s airport.

The Bundaberg Regional Council says an excavation conducted last week confirmed there are no bunkers.

In a statement, Mayor Lorraine Pyefinch says workers dug five metres underground at a site nominated by the Australian Bunker and Military Museum.

The museum has led the fight for such an exploration and previously threatened legal action when radar tests by the Australian Defence Force did not find any bunkers.

The museum’s managing director, Daniel Holtgren, is not commenting on the latest search results.

The council says there will be no more ratepayer-funded investigations.

Bunker Bernie sounds like a bit of a ‘rum cove’

(perhaps that needs explaining – for those who don’t know, Bundaberg is a popular Aussie rum, and a cove was often a good place for smugglers to hoard their treasures. But the term ‘rum cove’ also means “A dexterous or clever rogue”)

Trouble is, by the time they find anything, whatever is within will more than likely disintergrated from effects of time……

Mark

Surely out know that they are stored in the secret bunkers at Mt Tarampa (near the old RAAF Loowood base). Now there are bunkers that do exist, I have been in them and HAVE photos. BUT they are not secret, however there are rumours of other unground bunkers that are around the other side of the hill that are still covered up.

However…. they were empty at the time I went there.

you know the funny part is that one day someone will find a bunker in Australia which does still contain things!

cheers
