Just cottoned onto the Halifax armoured screens from another ongoing thread but am interested to see if anyone can provide a picture of them. A few years ago i spent months restoring a Jeep into the SAS European armoured configuration and it took several trips over to Belgium to measure up the only surviving original jeep.
One thing that struck me was how well made the armoured screens are and that they would never have been knocked up in a REME workshop just for the jeeps so it would be nice if someone could confirm that they are an Air Ministry item.

I took a few pictures tonight of the two armoured screens in our collection. I’m still not sure what type of aircraft or even vehicle they might have been fitted to. The panel (at one time) swivels and there appears to have been held in it’s up/down position with a locking pin and metal stop tabs.
The outer steel frame of the glass measures approximately 13 3/4″ wide by 14 3/8″ high, not including the tube at it’s base.

Not Halifax, or they must have been cut in half. Size looks to be too large too.
