I used to cycle past a Spitfire on a stick at Welschap, Eindhoven. ‘Anyone know which one it was, and where it is now?

Here’s what you saw then. It is the real MK959 just after replacement following a refurbishment. The gear was fixed a few days later.

Speedy,
It depends when you cycled by it.
The real MK959 was replaced with a GRP ‘MK959’ in November 1991.

You B****r! 🙂 Now I feel old…..(maybe I am!). It was 1988/9, I was living in Veldhoven and I used to cycle round to watch the F5s based at Welschap. I think there were a few F-16s too.

Back in ’94 I did a paper restoration on MK959.
