I was surfing for a particular type of aircraft, as one does, and found by chance this wonderful report of noise statistics in the Paris region for the year 2007:
http://www.stac.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/publications/documents/guidmet_bruitv2_2.pdf
Even if you ne parlez pas le langue, I invite you to scroll down to the list of military aircraft (pages 34 onwards) and prepare to be amazed! Included are aircraft that only ever flew as prototype, aircraft that will never fly to Paris again (ok, Vulcan flew again, but YC-14, last seen June 1977..!).
I knew we Brits have a propensity for stuffing (seasonal;)), but for a modern report to contain such historical padding blows the mind. My French isn’t good enough to know if there is an explanation for this gen ancien, so maybe I’m missing the point.
It’s nonetheless a superb report, and next time I fly into Le Bourget in my C119L Flying Box Car …..:)

Thanks Atch, yes, I recognized it for what it was. New types will be added as they come on line, but no-one is going to take the responsibility to clean it up. If they did, then both Aerospatiale and Nord would disappear, at least from one list…and we can’t have that, can we!
In a way it’s useful, I guess, for those who can read such reports and glean historical info out of them. I used to receive them from Stuttgart, personally addressed, and never knew why, until I discovered that the chap responsible used to be on the GA panel at the German Aero Club, with whom I had a fair bit to do!
cheers

Just ignorance, I suppose, on the part of the compiler. Info, as I understand, on file so listed without regard to its currency. Presumably many of these military types were Paris show visitors/participants over the years. In similar vein, the ICAO list of aircraft type designators for flight plans and ATC use was still showing the Hastings at least 20 years after it had disappeared from the skies! No doubt the current edition has some weird throw backs, but I’m not at work so can’t check it.
