Proctor KEX LZ791 Progress and Help Needed!!

Thethe rudder from 791 is now rebuilt just awaiting varnishing and covering. 85% of the assembly is the original 65 year old Canadian spruce as good now as it was when new. Stripping down of the airframe is well advanced with the feel of a “Time Team” excavation” as we remove more layers of fabric. Tantalizing shades of a dark blue overall scheme are being revealed and we are now more then ever certain that from 1946 to 1948 she was finished in this colour retaining her RAF serial LZ791 with unit numbers either side and wing roundels. A fuselage roundel, two thirds is visible with blue paint each side along with her serial number, silver onto blue. This has been applied directly onto the original camouflage. Her next coat was her first civil scheme of overall cream. We know that she served at West Raynham with the central fighter establishment after being placed on “Home Census” for possible disposal and stayed there till 1947 before discharge and being flown to Colerne for final disposal and sale into the civilian market. Was she the personal “Hack” of a senior West Raynham officer? What we are looking for is a photo of her post war still in RAF service and prior to civilianising and in the overall blue colour with RAF markings. Does anyone out there have a shot. If the scheme can be proved beyond doubt this will make a very nice change from standard camouflage to the top with yellow undersides. Looking forward to a deluge of replies with of course pictures. Make our Christmas please!
