Family, friends and repesentives of the scale aircraft hobby and publishing, gathered at Amersham to send Alan on his final sortie.
Alan was a well known aviation writer and publisher of the Warpaint series and other works.

Thanks for posting that John. Received an invite to attend from his son Chris, but regret couldn’t make it. My tributes can be read in Scale Aircraft Modelling magazine this month and in April’s issue which marked Alan’s 80th birthday.

My deepest condolences to all of you who knew Alan Hall.
I didn’t unfortunately, but I used to devour Aviation News.
It wasn’t until 2005 at the press do prior to the show at Biggin that I bumped into him in the tent, getting tea and biscuits.
First and last time I saw him. But I’m very glad I did.

Thank you John.
Sorry I couldn’t be there, not travelling much lately.

Hi Richard
A lot of kind words were said about the Malta connection.
Regards
John

Sorry not to have been there too, John, thank you for your post. Another sad loss , of which there have been too many in recent months, of a gentleman who influenced many, directly or indirectly, via the many facets of his aviation publications over the years. He’ll leave a wonderful legacy, but there’s a void that will be hard to fill. Thank you Alan. Brian S.

Many thanks John ,there was also a book of condolence at SMW Telford. Alan Hall sowed the seed for many model-makers today thanks to Airfix magazine.
