Throttle control? Any ideas? PA4 47

As I mentioned in a previous post I have stumbled across quite a few
aircraft parts I forgot I had. This piece is (I think) a throttle control although
I have to say that I am only guessing.

There is a button in the end of the handle, and the wording (on the handle)
press to transmit. The followign stamps are also on:
PA4 47
B5837U

219 (in an oval)

The photo should show up the numbers.

I have no idea what it is from so any help would be great.

Thanks for the photo. It certainly looks like the control handle in the photo of the
Balliol although mine lacks the rubber.

Yes, I think Balliol is definitely an option.

I only have a small pic to hand, but the similarities are obvious.

There appears to be a moulded rubber grip over the handle but this may well have been discarded at some point on yours, johnnie?

I’m wondering if it is a piece of radio gear, rather than from a throttle? I wouldn’t rule out the Firefly yet.

Out of interest, could it have changed shape in later mks?

Do members also think that the BP Balliol is not an option?

thanks for both of those messages. Well it looks like we can rule out the Firefly (or at least the Firefly I).

I hadn’t thought of that. The ex owner thought it was from a BP balliol or a Fairy Firefly
but I haven’t a clue.

Its a guess, but I would hazard that ‘PA’ would be Percival Aircraft

just wanted to bring this back to the top. I have been told it may be from a
BP balliol or could be possibly Fairy Firefly but was wondering if anybody could confirm.
