I’m just watching Martin Scorcese’s epic biography of Howard Hughes, and I’m curious as to what the biplane is that Hughes and his mechanic, Odie, knock the interplane struts off?
It looks like a Boeing of some sort (I’m not hot on interwar biplanes! :o) but apart from that…

The Boeing replica used in the film is currently being offered for sale for “only” $199,000.
No, I can’t afford it.

This is a true Homebuilt..and not a part of the dozen or so rebuilds & replicas of the P-12/F4B/Boeing 100 recently profiled in FlyPast.

I believe its a Boeing 100. Hughes did modify a similar Boeing.
