That is very sad news.
I went to the Geneseo airshow this year. It poured down. The crowd spent most of the day huddled together under wings of DC-3s and the B-17. The static park turned into a lake (interesting seeing a P-40 skiing past on wheels).
Luckily Charlie Foxx was commentating and thanks to his stories it was a really enjoyable day. He kept them coming all day long. I’d never heard any of them before and he delivered them with such humility.
At the end the other commentator asked him back for next year to which he replied that he’d keep commentating as long as his health held.

I really enjoyed reading about what he did after the war and how much he did for his fallen comrades. It’s different than compared to some of the ones I’ve met who is more of the “let’s just forget this and get on with our lives” type of guys.
A true hero, Mr Fox.
