A bit of a stange request here…
A couple of days I got a flyer through the post from Colin Cummings (aka Nimbus Publishing) who has previously written an excellent series of books on post ww2 RAF losses. He stated that his new book will be published in 2009 and will list over 1000 transport and special duties aircraft lost through accidents or enemy action from 1940 to 1945.
Anyway he said in the flyer ‘you may have read my recent advert in Flypast’ in which I listed my current projects as well as anouncing the above book. Well I didn’t read his recent advert in Flypast, nor could I find it in the last issue!.. I was wondering if anyone here
a) Remembered his advert
b) Could provide me a list of his other ‘projects’
Many Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,
Funnily enough I do remember the advert, as I’m waiting for said book release!(roll on 2009!). It’s featured in the August 08 magazine on page 33. If you can’t find it, here is a list of the books mentioned in the advert:
“The Price of Peace” – RAF aircraft losses May-December 1945
“Final Landing” – RAF Aircraft Accidents 1946-1949
“Last Take-Off” – RAF Aircraft Written Off 1950-1953
Coming soon….
“Though Without Anger” – Losses of Transport & Special Duties Aircraft and Assault Gliders 1940-1945
“Category Five” amalgamation & update of “Lost in Service” and “To Fly No More” to cover 1953-2008
Hope this helps!
Simon
