Who was Squadron Leader E G Harrison (RAF 1960s)

I’ve just ordered a copy of my Birth Certificate (online) because my original is in tatters and is falling apart. I was born at The Princess Mary’s RAF Hospital – Akrotiri in Cyprus, and my Birth Certificate was signed by Squadron Leader E G Harrison.

I’m just curious – who was this officer? Was he a pilot or desk jockey? Does anyone know anything about him and was he responsible for the first mistake to befall me:

I was physically born in the evening of September 8th. That said, the paperwork was done until the following morning and accordingly that day’s date (9th) was written down into all the relevant paperwork. So, I have two birthdays. It was months before my parents realised the mistake, but they didn’t have the mistake corrected(?).

Squadron Leader E G Harrison may have been flying on the 8th and a bit tired when he completed you birth certificate.:D

My wife has four Christian names, the registrar heard Anne, when her father said and.
It was never amended.

Seeing as you were born in an RAF Hospital I suspect it would either be a Medical officer or Administrative Officer. Quite possibly either of those mentioned acting in the role of Registrar of Births.
