Does any of you great luminaries have the cross sectional dimensions for the intercostals/stringers fitted between Frame 11 and 12, and 12 and 13 please? Cheers!

The exception to the advice regarding use of Grey Green/silver is on Westland built Spitfires and Seafires – they seemed to go mad with it and used it almost everywhere. I have even seen it on the internal structure of a Seafire outer wing.

Which firewall? The one in front or behind the fuel tanks. In both cases I would feel safe in green being the correct choice…..I think:o

cheers Steve and Ross, that is great…..
Next questions should deal with colour schemes……I know aft of frame 11 and fwd of frame 8 is silver, but is the front of the firewall cockpit green or silver? It appears that most modern rebuilds opt for Cockpit green, but for a wartime built bird should it be that or silver!?

Hi Tony,I think they are all the same.Check the MkIX drawings. Are you figuring out the aerial bracing and radio door positions? And no,there is no such thing as a dumb spitfire question 😀
Thanx Ross….but I do not have those drawings…..hence the request for the cross section dimensions:)
