Hello all.
I am currently looking for web sites with information on the development of swept wing technology by the Germans during the second world war. With particular emphasis on the ME262.
I have trawled through Google and all I have found are things like wikipedia. I need a more credible source I can refference.
Cheers
Ben

Thank you for your replys. I have seen the information you refer to. But I have also seen that there was some understanding of the effect the swept wing was having on commpresability on the leading edges.
I heard the swept wing was sketched on a napkin in 1936 but the design also had a swep prop 😮

Adolf Busemann is credited with the idea-apparently did a talk about this in about 1936-but everyone ignored him!

Others will expand on this – but I thought I’d be first…….
The Me-262 was no more ‘swept wing’ than was the Short Sunderland.
In both cases the wings were swept back for CG reasons, not to increase speed (in the case of the 262).
In other words, the Me-262 did not employ ‘swept wing technology’….
