The day before the dreadful accident over Zagreb, G-AWZT visited Edinburgh on a Shuttle. Very poor photograph, but poignant, nevertheless.

RIP the 176 people who died that day, on ZT and the Inex Adria DC9.

And is that a Caravelle in the background? How often did we Turnhouse spotters ask – will this be the last year for a Caravelle visit to Edinburgh?

Thats a nice picture – looks like it is taken from the old terminal building.

The full Formal Report is now available online on the AAIB website. A terrible tragedy. 🙁

A very sad day which many readers may be too young to remember.:(

Arhh I was waiting for this plane at Istanbul airport the day it crashed. It was due to take me back to Heathrow on the return leg but never made it’s destination. Very sad seeing the relatives and friends waiting for the plane to arrive at IST. Sad sorry which could have easily been avoided, over worked air traffic controllers with the added hinderance of out of date equipment. RIP everyone. Does anyone know if there is a memorial to the passengers or aircraft anywhere?
