Along the lines of Creaking Doors post about a Spitfire near Birmingham, my dad keeps telling me stories about a Hurricane that was on display at an ATC unit I think, on Sling Lane in Malvern. He thinks it went to Perdiswell in the early 60s.
Any have any info or a pic?
Thanks
Steve

Is this the first memory in which the aircraft is believed to not be a Spitfire! when it actually was?

Thanks Mark, is there anything you don’t know about Spits!?

When was it scrapped?

suggests it is stored at RAF Shawbury. I realise this may be a few years out of date, siting Cardington as the home of the RAF Museum Reserve?
Confusion with LA226, which was for a time stored at Shawbury.
My guess is that it was scrapped in the late 1950’s.

Answered my own question –

And it is the one, my Dad used to live in one of the houses just out of shot

Hmm, I wonder if that’s the one….
I don’t suppose any pics exist?

Certainly there was a Spitfire at Malvern…with the ATC.
Mk 21, LA228, coded F, silver finish.
Alas, scrapped.
