Hi fantasma_337, the links are great, thank you.

Roger, the engine number should be on top of the spur gear casing, if not visible as some were stamped over when rebuilt, it is also on the front of the head’s and cam cover’s fairly close together.

Enjoy your visit.

……Does anyone know the number of the Lion engine at Old Warden ? Andy

Andy, I should be at Old Warden this Saturday and am hoping to have a good look at the Lion. If I do I also hope I can find some numbers on it.

Hi Dave, thanks for the information, various record’s give G-AAAW as having Lion 50108 fitted, this is very interesting to me as my engine also has some Old Warden history until about 1970.

Does anyone know the number of the Lion engine at Old Warden ?

From what i can find the Greek National aircraft Factory built 12 T.3A Velos land and seaplanes commencing T11 in march 1926.
One built in Leeds for the South American tour Works order 9593/1 built 1926 with floats, became G-EBWB.
My father rememebers Velo G-AAAW being broken up at Old Warden in 1935.
