That p38 in Alaska 13400 is it still there? Whats her story?

It is one of the Horton wings that are in the states and stored for one of the large national museums.

Just noticed from photos on another website, that almost the entire structure is made from wood, the wings appear to have wooden formers, with ply covering, and the main body is steel tube, with a ply skin; sometimes the most advanced looking designs, use the most conventional construction.

Stuka Unit name

When clicking on the thread I was amazed to see an abandoned JU 87 which a relative of mine had photographed in North Africa!

The photo was taken from almost exactly the same position as the one in my keeping, but in mine there is no pile of petrol/water cans and the aircraft still has it’s engine cowling on.

Can anyone identify the unit which this aircraft belonged to?

Some amazing shots of planes underwater, they seem to fare quite well submerged dont they? The Japanese planes due to their rarity are also interesting presumably these are all saved now.

That flying wing with the swastica’s on the upper surfaces, looks amazing; where is that located, (if it still exists)?

Wow! Anyone know anything about the Dornier flyong boat being salvaged? Or the RAF biplane with 4A on its (very rounded) empennage?
