Hello
I have started to work iwith my father on our next project which is to build almost all version of Hawker Hurricane (protype to 1946/7).
Righ now I am still defining all the Mk I options and then I will check each one in order to see if I have doubts like colours, markings, etc.
I wonder if someone could help me with the following Hurricanes.
1) Hurricane Mk I (Early) L1643 Sqdn 85 Debden Zima 1938.
A friend of mine sent me the above profiles which came from the book: AJ Press – Monografie Lotnicze N05 – Hawker.Hurricane.Part.1 (Page 85). Unfortunately I couldn’t find any photos to confirm this types of markings. Were they painted in Red/Blue/Yellow?
2) Hurricane Mk I (Late) Z4791 – 33/H Empire Central Flying School, Hullavington – September 1942.
I have the information regarind the colours and markings of this aircraft but the reference on the book: Squadron Signal – Walkaround-14 Hurricane – (Page 55) mention that probably the art nose is the Empire Central Flying School insignia. Is this correct?. Does someone have a better pictures of this insignia?.

Many thanks in advance.
Sometime I feel that making the resarch is harder than making the model.
Kind regards

Unfortunately I cannot help with your questions above.
A comment though, if you are building all marks then perhaps you should include the early Mk1’s in RAF service that had retracting tail wheels. There is one photograph in the book “Hurricane: An Illustrated History”
By Phillip J. Birtles that shows Hurricanes with the tail wheel retracted. I have the impression that it’s commonly believed that once Hurricanes entered RAF service all the tailwheels were locked down.
Good luck with your project.
